If you are like me when I was beginning my concert photography journey, finding the right blogs, forums, websites, etc. to even know where to get started was scarce. Everything I was looking for or hoping to find was often not really available or hidden by various algorithms. Then at other times, the information I did find seemed like everybody was just copying one another or more dedicated to wedding or portrait photography and gear. However, photography is about a lot more than just gear and there is so much more to photography than just weddings and portraits (shout out to the ones who do enjoy wedding and portrait photography and are absolutely crushing it).
This is my first attempt of even running a blog, but just like you, I'm starting a new journey (whether that journey be a fresh beginner or somebody who wants to hone their skills in concert photography). Through my blogs, I hope to help share some of the wisdom and experience I have gathered over the years to help you further along in the concert photography business.
So to get us even started, let's take the time to even know what "photography" is. Photography was created from the Greek root words "photo", which means light, and "graph", which means writing. As a photographer, you "write with light" every time you take and create stunning images. The question is: What do you even want to say?
Until my next blog, any time you get ready to take a new photo, ask yourself "What do I even want to say?"
